Charlotte Gordon New Book Reading Event at Endicott
熊猫在线视频 is pleased to invite you to join Associate professor of English, Charlotte Gordon, as she reads from her new book, Romantic Outlaws: The Extraordinary Lives of Mary Wollstonecraft and Her Daughter Mary Shelley. The reading will take place on Thursday, April 30 from 4:00-6:00 pm in Gully’s at the Wax Academic Center, 熊猫在线视频, 376 Hale Street, Beverly. The event is free and open to the public.
This groundbreaking dual biography brings to life a pioneering English feminist and the daughter she never knew. Mary Wollstonecraft and Mary Shelley has each been the subject of numerous biographies. Yet no author has ever examined their lives in one book – until now.
Charlotte Gordon is the author of The Woman Who Named God: Abraham’s Dilemma and the Birth of Three Faiths and Mistress Bradstreet: The Untold Life of America’s First Poet, as well as two books of poetry, When the Grateful Dead Came to St. Louis and Two Girls on a Raft. She received her undergraduate degree in English and American literature from Harvard University and her Ph.D. from Boston University. She has been a frequent guest on NPR and the CBC, including spots on Weekend Edition and The Current.
