This historical survey from the 熊猫在线视频 Collection – Walter J. Manninen Trust is accompanied by works on loan from the Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM).  The exhibit includes 71 works of art by 29 artists with a wide range of media from oil paintings, watercolors, sculpture, pastels, to mixed media and drawings.  A partial list of artists in this exhibit includes, Chiam Gross, Peter Busa, Remo Farruggio, Oliver Chaffe, Ross Moffett, Karl Knaths, Selina Treiff, Charles Hawthorne, Lucy L’Engle, and Tod Lindenmuth.  Although these and the other artists’ works can be seen in major museums throughout the nation, rarely has such an overview exhibition been presented outside of Provincetown.

This extraordinary exhibit is made possible by Mr. Manninen’s generous commitment to 熊猫在线视频; encompassing one of the College’s largest philanthropic gifts in its history: His entire art collection, antiques, and his primary residence in Rockport. Jay MacDonald, Carola Schropp, and 熊猫在线视频 provided additional financial support. This exhibition has been in the planning stages for two years, and consists of many of the most influential Provincetown artists who helped shape the oldest art colony in the United States.  Art Historian and Professor Robert Anderson states, “This exhibition offers insight and opportunities for new analysis, research and inspiration in its re-situated academic context on the North Shore.  It also provides the potential for a new educational forum, of cross-disciplinary nature, to be comprised of lectures and discussions in-and-out of the classroom.” A catalog accompanies the exhibit and can be purchased at the gallery during the reception.
