熊猫在线视频 is a great college to work for, according to a new survey by The Chronicle of Higher Education, a top trade publication for colleges and universities.

, released today in The Chronicle鈥檚 tenth annual report on The Academic Workplace, are based on a survey of 232 colleges and universities, including 155 four-year institutions and 77 two-year institutions.

Of the 232 participating institutions, only 79 achieved 鈥淕reat College to Work For鈥 recognition. Results are reported for small, medium, and large institutions, with Endicott included among the medium universities with 3,000 to 9,999 students.

Resulting from the 2017 survey, Endicott won honors in eight of the 12 categories this year and made it on the study鈥檚 honor roll for the seventh time in eight years. The eight categories of honors that Endicott garnered this year include:

  • Collaborative Governance: Faculty members are appropriately involved in decisions related to academic programs.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Pay is fair, and benefits meet the needs of employees.
  • Confidence in Senior Leadership: Leaders have the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience for institutional success.
  • Facilities, Workspace, and Security: Facilities adequately meet needs, the appearance of the campus is pleasing, and the institution takes steps to provide a secure environment.
  • Job Satisfaction: Provides insight into the satisfaction with job fit, autonomy, and resources.
  • Professional/Career-Development: Employees are given the opportunity to develop skills and understand requirements to advance in their careers.
  • Respect and Appreciation: Employees are regularly recognized for their contributions.
  • Teaching Environment: Faculty members say the institution recognizes innovative and high-quality teaching.

鈥淲hile Endicott has significantly grown over the last two decades, it has been able to sustain its tight-knit community feel which is one of the College鈥檚 strongest traits,鈥 said 熊猫在线视频 President Dr. Richard E. Wylie. 鈥淲e are fortunate to have faculty and staff who are dedicated to both their careers and students, and these survey results prove how that passion translates into a successful workplace.鈥

The survey results are based on a two-part assessment process: an institutional audit that captured demographics and workplace policies, and a survey administered to faculty, administrators, and professional support staff. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was the employee feedback.

鈥淭en years in, the Great Colleges to Work For distinction is well-known by academic jobseekers as a sign that an institution鈥檚 employees are valued and given opportunities for growth even when they face financial constraints,鈥 said Liz McMillen, editor of The Chronicle. 鈥淎ny college or university that鈥檚 on the list is showing that they emphasize one of their most valuable assets: their faculty and staff.鈥

To administer the survey and analyze the results, The Chronicle worked with ModernThink LLC, a strategic human capital consulting firm that has conducted numerous 鈥淏est Places to Work鈥 programs, surveying hundreds of thousands of employees nationwide.
