Endicott Appoints New Members to the Board of Trustees

President Richard E. Wylie announced today the recent election of F. Samuel Eberts, III and Douglas R. Seymour to the 熊猫在线视频 Board of Trustees. They were nominated and appointed at the October Board meeting. F. Samuel Eberts, III is the Chief Legal Officer, Corporate Secretary, and Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings (NYSE: LH), a world-leading life sciences company that is deeply integrated into providing patient care. Sam leads the company’s Global Corporate Affairs group, with enterprise-wide responsibility for the Legal, Compliance, Corporate Secretary, Shareholder Services, Public Policy/Government Relations, Communications, Community Affairs, Privacy and Security functions.
A Chapel Hill, North Carolina native, Sam has more than twenty-five years of experience in private practice and as an international corporate executive. He serves on the Board of Directors and on the Investment Committee for MedCap Growth Equity Funds, a venture capital fund in Boston, Massachusetts. Sam chairs the Daerter Group, a specialized venture capital firm in New York and North Carolina and also serves on the Council for Entrepreneurial Development, one of the largest entrepreneurial networks in the United States and is an active mentor working with entrepreneurs to provide practical advice and coaching. Sam was appointed to the Health Care Policy Leadership Council at Harvard University’s Kennedy School, a multidisciplinary program within the school’s Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government. He also serves on the Advisory Council for the Corporate Governance Forum at Harvard Law School. Sam serves on the Wilson Council for the Woodrow Wilson Center for International Scholars in Washington, D.C., a non-partisan global public policy institute, and on the Advisory Board for the World Policy Institute in New York City, a non-partisan think tank for global policy analysis. Sam was elected to serve as Chairman of Easter Seals/UCP of North Carolina and Virginia and now serves as Chairman of the Governance Committee. Sam also serves on the Board of the Alamance Community College Foundation and was previously on the board of Alpha Marketing, Inc., a premier advertising firm based in North Carolina. He is a frequent speaker on healthcare reform, leadership and the legal profession including the Harvard Kennedy School, Duke University School of Law, Wake Forest University School of Law, Baylor University School of Medicine and the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. A graduate of Loyola University of Chicago and the Boston University School of Law, Sam has also served as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Texas School of Public Health, Division of Management, Policy and Community Health.
Douglas R. Seymour is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Electric Insurance Company, an affiliate of General Electric Company, located in Beverly, MA.
Electric Insurance is a Property and Casualty Insurance Carrier, which provides auto, home, and excess liability insurance to individuals in all 50 states and covers General Electric for its workers’ compensation, General/Excess Liability programs globally. Electric Insurance is one of the largest employers on Boston’s North Shore.
Prior to joining Electric Insurance in 2012, Doug, over his more than 30-year career, held executive leadership positions with GE in finance, global operations, and business development in a number of its business segments (GE Capital, Aviation, Healthcare, Power).
Doug has been a member of the University of Connecticut’s School of Business International Advisory Board, lectured at UConn’s Global Leadership Seminar Series, and taught Financial Management/ Advanced Financial Management at GE’s JF Welch Leadership Development Institute. Most recently he has been a member of 熊猫在线视频’s Board of Advisors.
