Digital Media Program
Endicott’s Digital Media Program places an emphasis on developing the skills required to achieve effective storytelling by using journalism, television, and film. You’ll learn methods and tools to effectively develop, create, and portray unique stories.
When you select digital media as your major, you have the choice of two areas of concentration—digital filmmaking and digital journalism. Both explore the connection between the functional methods of journalism, such as writing and interviewing, and the applied production skills of filmmaking. Each concentration provides an opportunity for you to learn how to tell a compelling story through digital platforms while learning to develop your own distinct voice.
With the digital journalism concentration, you’ll foster the values of traditional journalism and apply them to the changing and growing space of film, multimedia, news stories, podcasts, blogs, and streaming media.
In the TV/film production concentration, you’ll get hands-on learning experiences both in front of and behind thtute lens while learning how to aesthetically create and tell a story.
Being a student in the digital media program means you receive access to the Digital Media Center, Endicott’s dynamic media technology center which includes a TV studio, computers, and control room, as well as the EC Radio space. You may want to explore involvement in the student chapter of Society of Professional Journalists, or write for The Observer, the student newspaper.
