An ÐÜèÔÚÏßÊÓƵ Global Ambassador is a key role on campus, helping the international student population adapt to life in the U.S. Francesca Levine ’23 has been an Ambassador for a year, and it’s clear that she’s found her calling. She says, “My role as a Global Ambassador has been illuminating and very rewarding. It's a two-way street—I help international students adapt to college in the U.S. and they enlighten me about their culture, customs, and ways of life.”
Levine’s drive and major led to her involvement with the Global Ambassador Program. She says, “As a Hospitality Management major, I had a keen interest in learning about new cultures and people’s backgrounds. I took the initiative to get involved as it was right up my alley.”
“Broadening my horizons and creating connections abroad has helped shape me into a person who can easily interact with international students, be an additional resource for them, and make them feel at home at Endicott.”—Francesca Levine ’23
Levine is passionate about internationalizing the Endicott community and believes this role will continue to allow her that opportunity. She says, “I seek to share my experiences with others and optimize my global awareness. The most enriching part about being a Global Ambassador is promoting study abroad, guiding international students through novel social settings, and helping them be successful in their academic journeys. My ultimate goal is to continue developing my cross-cultural communication skills.”
Levine offers a lot to the program, including a history of travel and the ability to speak multiple languages. She says, “I have been to nine countries and 20 states (and counting). I speak English and Russian, and I am in the process of learning Spanish.” Those two things have positioned her to make a major impact. She says, “Traveling and learning new languages has enriched my life by not limiting my knowledge to just what I’m familiar with but rather [inspiring me] to engage on a global scale.”
This year, Levine has stepped back from the official Global Ambassador title to focus on serving as an Orientation Leader for incoming Gulls. But, she says, “I am continuously working with international students to make their transition as smooth as possible.”
