President's Corner: Spring 2024
This spring, I’ve been fortunate to visit our international partner institutions serving our study abroad population. Experiencing places steeped in history and meeting new people (just like fellow traveler Rick Steves encouraged us to do when he visited last year) has provided a warming reminder to me of the beauty of the human experience.
We all have brilliant stories to tell—of our histories or our dreams, our accomplishments and failures. We have been lucky to hear many of these stories over the past year through our “Share Your Story” academic theme. It’s been truly inspiring to see where our Gulls have reached and to learn more about their creative, caring, and entrepreneurial minds. I would like to thank everyone who has contributed their own experiences to this collective tale.
Endicott itself has a story to tell, as well—this year marks the College’s 85th anniversary. We are all familiar with our history as a two-year women’s college with an inaugural graduating class of 20 students, but I think we forget that the phenomenal growth of the College between 1939 and today. With over 1,000 graduates expected to stroll across the stage at this year’s Commencement, our growth has been driven by the personal achievements of community members and leaders who wanted to see the institution flourish. Endicott has been built and raised by storytellers.
With our campaign going strong, I imagine we’ll have the opportunity to hear many more stories from members of this amazing Endicott family, as well as the resources to tell them in new, incredible ways. I invite you to join us on this remarkable journey.
